New Delhi:
India has said it is disappointed with continuing attacks on Indians in Australia and that more needs to be done by the Australian government.
"We have taken up the issue of attacks against Indians in Australia. They have assured us zero tolerance. Our consulate is in touch with Australian authorities. We are disappointed with the way attacks are continuing. They have taken certain measures but more needs to be done," said Vishnu Prakash, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs.
Two Indians were attacked in separate incidents overnight on Thursday in Brisbane in the latest of a series of incidents.
A 25-year-old youth was assaulted and robbed while using a phone box near his home in Macgregor in Brisbane's south.
In another incident, a taxi driver was attacked after an argument broke out with two men in Carindale, in Brisbane's southeast.
