Ghaziabad : As the borders with Pakistan remains active with repeated ceasefire violations, the Indian Air Force celebrates its 84th Foundation Day on Saturday by scintillating air display at Air Force Station Hindon in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, near Delhi.
Congratulating Air Force on the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Saluting all air warriors and their families on the Air Force Day. Thank you for protecting our skies. Your courage makes India proud."
President Pranab Mukherjee also applauded the Air Force, saying that it has achieved distinction in defending our skies, delivering vital humanitarian aid and disaster relief. He tweeted,
The Indian Air Force is prepared to deal with "any challenge" in "most befitting manner", said Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha.
In his message on official Facebook page of the IAF -- Indian Air Force, Power to Punish -- the Air Force chief said the force is operating some of the most modern weapon and equipment and the air warriors exercise ceaseless vigil of skies.
"We continue to train to take up any threat and are fully prepared to undertake any challenge in most befitting manner," the IAF chief said.

The Air Force Day is celebrated to commemorate the day the force was officially established, October 8, 1932.
Army Chief Dalbir Singh and former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar were also present on the occasion.
