Indian mother pushing baby in pram hit by speeding teen
Melbourne: A 25-year-old woman pushing her baby boy in a pram and walking with her husband was killed when a car ploughed into them in Perth, Australia, on Tuesday.

The woman's husband, Gurdeep Singh, and their three-month-old baby survived.

Gurdeep Singh said he is heartbroken at the loss of his wife Manju Bala.

"I am totally heartbroken at the moment. Totally just flattened, I can't say anything," he told Australian Network Ten.

It's believed the car was driven by an 18-year-old man who only had his driving license for just over a week, local media reported.

He apparently lost control of the car around a bend and mounted a curb, local media reported.

Gurdeep said he pushed the baby out of the way but was unable to save his wife as the car was coming too fast.

"He was speeding. The recommended speed is 40 and I'm a taxi driver so I can imagine what the speed was. There was no reaction time," Gurdeep Singh told Network Ten.

He said his wife was thrown into a wall before landing about two meters onto the side of the road.

"The lady was lying on the ground and a lot of blood was coming out and her husband was crying," Witness Raj Singh told Network Ten.

The Western Australian state police Major Crash Squad is investigating the accident and no charges have been laid at this stage, local media reported.

Police don't believe alcohol was a factor in the accident, local media reported.

Witnesses said the driver was clearly overwhelmed by what had happened.

Gurdeep Singh said he will arrange for his wife's body to be flown back to India.

He says he now just wants justice to be served, local media reported.
