Lahore: An Indian national was arrested at Wagah railway station along Indo-Pak border for smuggling over two lakh Pakistani rupees, officials said.
According to press release issued by the Customs Department in Lahore yesterday, the Indian passenger was travelling from Lahore to India by Samjhota Express and was carrying Pakistani currency more than the permissible limit of Rs 3,000.
It did not mention the name of the Indian national citing "security reasons."
A total of Rs 2,25,000 Pakistani rupee were recovered from his luggage, the statement said.
The amount recovered from the suspect has been seized and a case has been registered against him.
