Indian-origin man arrested for murder in UK

London: An Indian-origin man has been arrested and produced in court in connection with the sensational murder of an oil executive who disappeared some weeks ago and whose decomposed body was found in a car in London on Thursday.

40-year-old Rakesh Bhayani described as an unemployed man based in Wembley, was charged with three counts of conspiracy to commit fraud by withdrawing nearly 280,000 pounds from the account of executive Carole Waugh, aged 50 years.

Mr Bhayani, who is among six people arrested in connection with Ms Waugh's murder, appeared at the Westminster Magistrates Court, and was remanded to custody to appear at the Southwark Crown Court on September 25.

The victim's body was found in a car in a garage in south-west London, and the police said she had been dead for some time. A post-mortem examination found that she died from a stab wound.

As the murder mystery hogs headlines, one Nicholas Kutner was arrested for pretending to be Chris Waugh, Carole's brother, and trying to sell her house in London. He faces four fraud charges.

Ms Carole, who some reports suggested that she was also an 'escort', was last seen in central London on May 4. Originally from Durham, she worked earlier in the Middle East and lived in the Marylebone area of London.
