New Delhi: Further investigations are on, police said.
A 28-year-old man, against whom the Interpol had issued a red corner notice and was wanted for rape and attempt to murder of two young women in Scotland in 2012, was arrested by Crime Branch of Delhi Police in Delhi.
The accused, identified as Raminder Singh, was arrested on Sunday from Delhi after police received a request from their UK counterparts.
"He was wanted for attempt to murder and rape in a 2012 case of two young women in Scotland. He had escaped from UK immediately after committing the crime and was staying in Chandigarh assuming a fake identity," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.
