Indian sportsmen catch swine flu in Singapore

New Delhi:

For the first time, swine flu has hit the country's sports fraternity. Four members of the national fencing team have been confirmed as having swine flu.

The four seem to have got the virus in Singapore. They returned from there to New Delhi on July 22 with flu like symptoms. The team was in Singapore from July 15 till the 21.

According to the Union Health Ministry, India has so far 371 confirmed cases of swine flu out of whom, 237 have been discharged from hospital.

According to WHO, there are 130,000 cases worldwide but WHO now says it has stopped asking countries to report cases as it was spreading too rapidly.

WHO also warns that as many as 2 billion people could become infected over the next two years.
