Chennai:
Police in the Pacific Island of Fiji have recovered the decomposed remains of two Indians. Two men have been arrested in connection with the murders.
Lakshmi is inconsolable knowing that her father Ramkrishnan Amirthanlingam and his business partner Rajamanickam Venkatachalam were murdered by their own employee Ravi and his friends for monetary gain. The entire family is in a state of shock.
"He wanted to undertake the entire business, farm, vehicle and all property. He knew all about the business dealings and the property details. He must have thought that no one will come from India so he could have done this," says, Ganesh Rajan, Ramkrishnan's brother, in reference to the alleged murderer.
Ramakrishnan's family in Chennai suspected foul play when he went missing in December last year. They tried to contact the Fijian police to trace the missing men, but their efforts were futile.
Baladhandayuthapani, Ramkrishnan's relative says, "Even though we have taken all the steps to pressurize the Indian High commission in Fiji no steps were taken. If they had acted fast then the lives of two entrepreneurs could have been saved. We condemn this."
Ramakrishnan's family says Fijian police have arrested Ravi and Nadeem. They confessed to police that they killed the two Indians and packed their remains in suitcases and buried them in a farm. Fijian police say they are on the look out for three more suspects.
