Colombo:

India's National Security advisor and Foreign Secretary arrived in Colombo on Wednesday. Their mission: To convey India's concerns over the state of ethnic Tamils in Lanka.

On a day both Sinhalas and Tamils celebrated the end of a long war, the end was confirmed by the images of LTTE chief Prabhakaran's body.

But in Lanka, the revelry is not limited just to the majority Sinhalese.

In the Tamil-dominated area of Wellawattha in Colombo the people are happy that Prabhakaran is dead and at last they can live in peace with their Sinhala counterparts.

"Now that the war is over the Sinhalas and Tamils can live in peace and amity," says one local.

Peace may come quickly but political power to the Tamils is some distance away.
