India's only woman to win the Grammy Awards, Tanvi Shah is back home in Chennai. The jai ho girl spoke to NDTV on Monday.
Chennai based Tanvi Shah, a popular playback singer, became the first women from India to win the Grammy Awards for the song Jai Ho in the film Slumdog Millionaire.
She shares this award along with AR Rahman and poet and lyric writer Gulzar.
Tanvi wrote the Spanish lyrics, which were a part of the song and was also one of the singers who rendered it. She has a great voice and can sing in Arabic, Latin, and Spanish and sings a wide range of music with her band, Zahrra.
"It was a wild ride and I feel blessed although it has been a roller coaster ride. I hope it goes this way. I'm going to work 500 per cent harder," said Tanvi Shah, Grammy Award winner.
Asked about her new projects she said: "Am quite superstitious about my projects. Getting quite a few good projects. You'd certainly come to know."
