Indo-Singapore Mission to Visit Eco Smart City in China

Kochi: B R Ajit, Chairman of IGBC Kerala chapter and Member of its National Governing Council, has been included as a member of a high level delegation of Indo-Singapore Mission to Tianjin Eco Smart City, China.

Organised by CII-Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, the joint high-level mission will visit Tianjin Eco City from July 29 to August 1.

Senior Ministers of the Singapore Government are expected to be part of the delegation, a press release said today.

Tianjin Eco-City, a bilateral flagship project between the Governments of Singapore and China, is the world's first government-to-government level eco-city project between two countries.

It is envisioned as a sustainable and environmentally friendly smart township with 3,50,000 residents, located at a 30 sq km site in Tianjin's Binhai New Area.

As the world's largest projected eco-city, it could shape up the future model of urban centres globally. Ajit is the only architect invited to join this mission from India.

Earlier, Ajit was the leader of the official Indian delegation to World Green Building Convention held in Toronto in 2012.
