Indore:

A food delivery agent in Indore was stopped by a Hindu group and forced to remove his Santa Claus costume while he was out to deliver an order on Christmas.

A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, shows a Zomato delivery agent being interrogated by members of the 'Hindu Jagran Manch'

"Are you delivering an order dressed up as Santa Claus?",  the group asked the agent, to which he replied in the affirmative. "Do you ever go to people's homes dressed as Lord Ram on Diwali"?  To this, the delivery agent replied, "No, but now the company has asked me to wear this costume".

The agent, Arjun, said Zomato had mandated the festive dress code, requiring delivery personnel to send selfies as proof of compliance. Non-compliance, he said, could lead to salary deductions or even the blocking of IDs. The group told him to stick to his Zomato uniform and wear the costume only for the selfies.

The delivery agent was then made to remove the costume.

The group kept the outfit and let him go after chanting "Jai Shri Ram."

Sumit Hardia, a member of  the Hindu Jagran Manch, justified the act, stating, "What is the need to impose such a dress code on delivery boys? We do not agree with this practice and will continue to oppose it."

As of now, no formal complaint or police action has been reported.
