New Delhi:
An Indian missing since the Brussels attacks on Tuesday has been identified as Raghavendran Ganesh, an Infosys employee who works in the Belgian city.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted on Wednesday evening that she had spoken to Mr Ganesh's mother, Anapoorni Ganesh, and assured her of all efforts to locate her son.
The minister has also posted Mr Ganesh's photograph and appealed for help to find him. "He spoke to his mother an hour before the blasts," Ms Swaraj tweeted.
"We are looking to establish contact with one person of the community since last evening...we haven't been able to do so and its a matter of concern," Indian Ambassador to Belgium Manjeev Puri told NDTV. He said Mr Ganesh's friends and others are also trying to contact him.
Anapoorni Ganesh told
The News Minute that he had been working in Brussels on a project for four years. He had visited India last month when his wife gave birth, she said.
Mrs Ganesh, who lives in Mumbai, said she had spoken to her son on Skype before he left for work on Tuesday morning.
"With the exception of one employee who we are trying to reach, we have been able to connect with all other employees. We are in touch with the missing employee's family and are working with the Indian Embassy and local authorities in Brussels to locate our employee on priority," said IT major Infosys.
Sushma Swaraj has also tweeted that
the two crew members of Jet Airways injured in the explosions at the Brussels airport are recovering well.
The minister said the government is "coordinating with @jetairways on alternate plans to evacuate our citizens." All Indian passengers stranded in Brussels are being provided hotel accommodation, she said.
Brussels is a hub for Jet Airways and four aircraft of the airline were at the Brussels airport
when the explosions occurred.
The airline said that its crew members are being given all the "required medical care" and that it has made arrangements for their family members to travel to Brussels.
