New Delhi:
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today demanded that instead of "arbitrarily" releasing files related to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in installments, government should institutionalise the process of declassifying the files so that nation knows the truth and no politics is done over it.
"The government should institutionalise the process of declassification. Arbitrarily choosing the timing of declassification would only help politicising issues close to nation's heart. Arbitrarily releasing the documents smack of political opportunism, which should be avoided," senior party leader Ashutosh said.
He also cautioned the BJP against doing politics by showing heroes of freedom struggle in poor light by selectively using facts from history books and circulating stories about differences between them.
"People know that our leaders had differences of opinion on several issues but they respected each other. Doubting their integrity on the basis of selective facts would not only be unfair to them, it will be a dangerous trend to set. The BJP should refrain from politics of hatred for short term goals and not cause permanent damage to the society," he said.
