New Delhi:
The cabinet has decided to include all intelligence agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and RAW under the Whistleblowers Bill.
The bill seeks to establish a mechanism to receive complaints regarding allegations of corruption or wilful misuse of power. It was introduced in the Lok Sabha in August, 2010.
Agencies under the clause of national security like the Special Protection Group (SPG) have been kept out of the ambit of the Whistleblowers Bill.
The cabinet's decision comes despite reservations from the Ministry of Home Affairs over the issue.
