Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said the capacity of Central Armed Police Forces will be strengthened

The capacity of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be strengthened and they will be provided with state-of-the-art equipment and technology, Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said on Monday.
"A modernisation plan at a cost of Rs.11,009 crore has been approved to strengthen the capacity of Central Armed Police Forces," said P. Chidambaram, while presenting the interim budget for the fiscal 2014-15 in the Lok Sabha.
There are six CAPFs in the country under the union home ministry: Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Sashastra Seema Bal, and National Security Guard.
He said the funds have been provided in the current financial year and for the next year.
