Agartala:
BSF has apprehended an alleged ISI agent while he was crossing the Indo-Bangla border at Sabroom in South Tripura district, police said here on Saturday.
"Abu Bakkar Siddique, a Bangladeshi citizen, was held on Wednesday by BSF personnel from Sabroom while he was crossing the border without any valid document. He was later handed over to police. Preliminary investigations suggested that he is an ISI agent," DIG (Police control) Nepal Das said.
The Bangladeshi is a resident of Gajipur in Dhaka and entered into South Tripura through Chittagong border and was supposed to go to Kolkata by route via Agartala and Silchar, police said.
The police seized an ATM card operational in Mauritius and three phone numbers of three Kashmiris from him.
Das said the Bangladeshi was supposed to collect a bag from an unidentified man in Kolkata.
