With the arrest of an Israeli national for allegedly dealing in narcotic substances, the
firm run by him, which hardly had any turnover despite its presence in Goa for over a decade, is now under police scanner.
"The company run by David Grihas alias Dudu is under police scanner after the arrest. The company has two locals as its directors, who will also be questioned," Superintendent of Police (Anti-Narcotic Cell) Veenu Bansal said on Tuesday.
He said the company registered as Dudu Division Import and Export Private Limited was hardly making any business in the state despite its presence for over a decade.
"The company was being operated from Anjuna beach village, where Dudu was staying and had registered a profit of Rs 32,000, that too in 2005," Bansal said.
Dudu, 34, was arrested by sleuths of anti-narcotic cell with a variety of drugs estimated at Rs 3.81 lakh on Tuesday.
Bansal had claimed the arrest was a "big catch" as Dudu, an Israeli national on business visa to Goa was a major drug dealer and was earlier booked by Maharashtra police in 2008.
"We were preparing his file since long and we had noticed that many drug dealers were visiting his house at Anjuna," the SP said.
Goa police have already sealed the bank account operated by him while thorough investigations are being done to verify whether he was using the firm as a front to run his narcotics trade spread across India.
