It was not hooliganism, BJP leader Vijay Jolly on shocking 'protest': highlights
New Delhi: What BJP leader Vijay Jolly described as a protest at the home of journalist Shoma Chaudhury in Delhi was, in fact, a blatant act of harassment. On Twitter, he was assailed for defacing Ms Chaudhary's home, and graffiti-ing "Accused" on her name plate. Speaking to NDTV, he said he did not throw stones at Ms Chaudhury's home or disrupt traffic.

Here are the highlights:

  • We were there at the spot since 9 am. We never entered the property, we did not take the law and order in hand.
  • We did not throw stones at her house, did not disrupt traffic.
  • I have immense respect for Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley. At an appropriate party forum, I will present my case.
  • Not a question of hooliganism, why did the law enforcing agencies not protect the family of the girl which has been under immense pressure
  • Question of standing by women's rights
  • Perception might differ
  • Shoma is a co-accused. This is my perception
  • I was within my rights to protest - she has persistently taken the stand of supporting Tarun Tejpal
  • Unfortunate that you can make Vijay Jolly the villain in this whole debate. Tarun Tejpal should be arrested
  • I never physically attacked anyone. I reserve my right to peacefully protest
