Hyderabad:
US President Donald Trump's daughter and White House advisor Ivanka Trump will be in Hyderabad for two days next month to attend the annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
Ms Trump is leading the American delegation at the summit that will be co-hosted by India and the US. She will speak at the inaugural session along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the evening of November 28 and will also attend a part of the event the next day.
"Look forward to Ms. Ivanka Trump's presence at #GES 2017 Hyderabad as the leader of the US delegation," PM Modi had tweeted last month.
During his meeting with Donald Trump in the US in June, PM Modi had invited his daughter for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit. He had also invited the US President and the rest of his family to visit India.
Ivanka Trump, 35, promptly thanked PM Modi for inviting her. "Thank you, Prime Minister Modi, for inviting me to lead the U.S. delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India this fall," she had tweeted.
It is yet to be decided if she will also visit any other part of the country during her two-day trip.
Ms Trump discussed her India visit with Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj in the US last month.
"Women's economic empowerment and entrepreneurship are two signature issues she knows quite well. As you know she was instrumental in the We-Fi (Women Entrepreneurs Finance) initiative launched by the World Bank," said Jennifer Arangio, Senior Director for International Organizations and Alliances at the US National Security Council.
To be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, the summit will bring together 1,200 entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters for two-and-half days of training and mentoring sessions, networking and investment matchmaking. The event is being organised by NITI Aayog along with the Foreign Ministry.
