J&K Assembly discusses the meaning of 'badmaash'
Jammu: What is the meaning of the word badmaash? None of us would care to open a dictionary to find out, but Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Akbar Lone, made it a point to dig out the meaning from urdu dictionary Feroz-ul-lugaat for all the members to know.

"One honourable member has used the word badmaash, I want to quote feroz-ul-lagat, (urdu dictionary) and explain the meaning of the word badmaash. It means a person who earns his livelihood through bad work, perhaps that member has all those qualities in him that's why he used the word badmaash," Lone said.

Without actually naming him, the Speaker referring to a remark made by an MLA of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) Iftikhar Hussain Ansari on the last day of the budget session.

Ansari had used the phrase 'yeh sonawari ka badmaash hain'; the Speaker represents Sonawari in the Assembly.
