Ongole, Andhra Pradesh: Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy cancelled his ongoing 'Odarpu yatra' in Prakasam district for a day, after doctors advised him rest following an eye infection.
"Jagan has developed an eye infection. Doctors asked him to take rest on Tuesday but he continued with the yatra and the infection grew. Now they have advised him rest compulsorily,"Andhra Pradesh Mines Minster Balineni Srinivas Reddy told reporters here on Wednesday. He said the yatra would resume on Thursday.
Srinivas Reddy, a close relative of the Y S family, has been accompanying Jagan since he started the yatra in Prakasam district.
The doctors, who examined Jagan on Tuesday, said the infection would be cured in 2-3 weeks. Defying the party high command's directive, Jagan resumed his controversial yatra in Prakasam district 12 days ago. The high command, however, indicated that it may not take any action against him for now.
