New Delhi: The box office collections of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's latest film Jagga Jasoos 'declined' on Monday (Day 4), reports trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The adventure-drama film earned Rs 4.05 crore. Over the weekend, Jagga Jasoos made a business of over Rs 24 crore. Box Office India predicts that the collections will drop more in the coming days. On Friday, when the film released, Jagga Jasoos earned over Rs 8 crore. The current total of Jagga Jasoos now stands at Rs 37.22 crore, reports Mr Adarsh. The film is directed by Anurag Basu and co-produced by Ranbir Kapoor. Here's Taran Adarsh's tweet.
Jagga Jasoos features Ranbir as Jagga, an amateur detective while Katrina Kaif stars as Shruti Sengupta, a journalist and his accomplice. Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee, who played Bob Biswas in Vidya Balan's Kahaani, portrays the role of Jagga's father.
In his review for NDTV, film critic Raja Sen gave Jagga Jasoos four stars out of five. "Ranbir Kapoor charms as a hero all children should have. Jagga Jasoos is a dazzling, inventive and deliciously fun film, a musical mystery fable that curious children (of all ages) should watch at the soonest," Mr Sen wrote.
Box Office India reported that the opening collection of Jagga Jasoos was low as compared to Ranbir's 2014 film Roy, which earned Rs. 9.39 crore on Day 1.
Jagga Jasoos is Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's third film together. They previously collaborated for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rajneeti. Anurag Basu has earlier directed Ranbir Kapoor in Barfi! (2012).
Jagga Jasoos released with Raveena Tandon's Shab and Hollywood film War for The Planet Of The Apes.
