Jailed Sadhvi refuses to eat, booked

Mumbai: An attempt to suicide case has been registered against Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, an accused in the Malegaon blasts, for refusing to eat.

The Sadhvi was in the Nashik Civil Hospital for several months because of health complaints. She was discharged two weeks ago and taken back to jail.

She hasn't eaten since and was again taken to the Civil Hospital on Saturday.

At the hospital, however, the Sadhvi said jail authorities were, "harassing me mentally and physically and also not allowing me to undertake proper medical tests and food."

The case has been registered at the Sarkarwada police station in Nashik.

The Sadhvi is a prime accused in the Malegaon blasts of September 2008. The vehicle used in the blasts, a motorcycle, was registered in her name and led to her arrest.
