Kishtwar, Jammu:
In another sign of increased militant activity in the state, two jawans were killed in a late night encounter on Thursday in a district of Jammu.
This comes amid repeated attempts of infiltration from Pakistan along the international border.
The two jawans were killed after militants fired at an Army search party after they were surrounded in Thandar area near Kishtwar town. The area has been cordoned off and search operations are underway.
Suspected militants were believed to be hiding in a cave in Thandar area. The Army had specific intelligence inputs before search operations were launched and the encounter started.
