A Japanese tourist was today drugged and robbed of Rs 2.42 lakh-worth valuables on a bus from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, police said.
"Yukee Sinzee Mizohu (20) from Tokyo was travelling by a private bus from Mumbai to Ahmedabad," inspector RJ Pandav of Karanj police station in Ahmedabad said.
A co-traveller, who introduced himself as `AD' from Jodhpur, befriended him and offered noodles, apparently laced with drugs, before the bus arrived in Ahmedabad.
Mizohu slept after eating. He realised after waking up in Ahmedabad that his belongings, including ten thousand yen, an I-pad and an I-phone, were missing and the man has disappeared.
Police took him to government-run V S Hospital and recorded his statement.
