New Delhi: A Jat organisation today accused the BJP of not keeping its word of giving reservation to the community in Haryana and asked its members not to vote for the party in future elections until it changes its "anti-Jat" policy and offers quota as promised.
As part of its efforts to garner support for its campaign to "remove RSS and BJP from villages", the Vishwa Jaat Chetna Manch has also decided to form teams of its 1000-1200 members who will fan out community-dominated rural pockets in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan urging Jats to "vote for any party, but the BJP".
The manch has planned to hold a larger meeting of its members to discuss the campaign in the third week of June at Constitution Club in Delhi, its founder Omvir Singh said.
"We have decided to launch a campaign to throw the RSS-BJP out of villages in these states for not keeping its reservation promises made to Jats in Haryana. Until the RSS-BJP change their anti-Jat policy, offer reservation to Jats and release those falsely implicated during reservation agitation in Haryana, we will not vote for RSS-BJP," Mr Singh said.
He said the manch will conduct the campaign "peacefully" in the areas concerned.
