Ghaziabad:
Eying a broader understanding among non-BJP parties ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections next year, JD (U) leader KC Tyagi today said an alliance between Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, and other parties, is required to "save" the state from "communal forces".
He said a 'Grand Alliance' like the one in Bihar is required in Uttar Pradesh to defeat BJP.
Mayawati and Mulayam Singh must ponder over it, although it seems to be difficult, he said.
He said an alliance between these two parties and other parties like his own JD (U), Congress and RLD could keep BJP out of power after the Assembly polls.
Mr Tyagi was talking to media at his residence in Lohiya Nagar colony in the city on the occasion of launching a membership campaign of his party in western Uttar Pradesh.
When Mr Tyagi was questioned on the Mathura Violence', he said an inquiry must be initiated under the supervision of High Court judge.
