Gaya, Bihar:
Eleven Naxalites have been arrested in Bihar's Gaya district. Among those arrested is one of the main accused in the Jehanabad jailbreak case.
The arrests took place about an hour ago. Over 500 Maoists had laid a virtual siege in the town of Jehanabad on November 13, 2005, and 130 Naxalites escaped from prisons in seven hours.
The Naxalites were arrested late on Sunday overnight during a police raid on a village in the Atri block of Gaya. The raid was carried out on the basis of intelligence inputs.
Three of the 11 arrested have confirmed Naxal links. They are accused in various cases.
Police sources say one of the arrested played a major role in the Jehanabad jailbreak case of 2005.
Two country-made pistols, 16 rounds of bullets and two motorcycles have been recovered.
