Jet to begin full operations from Sunday

Mumbai: Jet Airways will resume full operations on Sunday, after five days of chaos when it had to cancel hundreds of flights and leave thousands of passengers stranded because over 400 pilots refused to work till two, and later four, of their sacked colleagues were reinstated.

The airline issued a statement after the five-day long pilots' strike was called off, saying: "...an amicable agreement has been arrived at, enabling the commencement of all domestic and international operations immediately. Effective Sunday the 13thSeptember, the airline will operate their full schedule of services on all sectors with all crew reporting for their normal rostered duties."

The statement also conveyed Jet Airways chairman Naresh Goyal's apology to the customers inconvenienced and his gratitude to other airlines that helped take the load of passengers and government agencies and ministries that helped resolve the matter.

Goyal also thanked the staff of Jet Airways for rallying around.
