Jharkhand to bring in two bills to curb corruption
Ranchi: The Arjun Munda government is determined to do away with corruption and for this purpose it will bring the bills on Right to Service Act (RTSA) and IT Act in the coming monsoon session of the assembly which is scheduled to meet from August 26.

The Chief Minister said that his government is determined to make the state corruption free and it is taking all the necessary steps to achieve this goal.

To make the bureaucracy accountable to the people and cleanse the system of 'babudom and nepotism', the government will be bringing bills on Right to Services Act and Information Technology Act in the coming Monsoon session of the state assembly, he said.

When asked if any BJP leader or top government functionary is found guilty of corruption, Munda asserted: "No one is above the law. The law will take its own course even if the Chief Minister himself is found guilty in any such case."

The chief minister said that the government will make all services in the state time bound and the concerned government functionaries will have to provide them, as per the time schedule. Otherwise strict action will be taken against them.

He said that all the government programmes under the social security schemes, issuance of several government certificates and many other services and the departments will be kept in the ambit of the RTSA so that the authorities are made more accountable.

All the services, documents and certificates will be provided at the panchayats, blocks and wards and to make these documents authentic, the IT Act bill is also being prepared to be introduced in the Assembly. Munda said that the Bills to be introduced in the assembly will be given their final shape in the cabinet meeting on August 23.
