Jehanabad: Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi has often been in the news for his controversial comments on a host of subjects, leaving most in his party, the JD(U), fuming or red-faced. In fact, sources have suggested that former chief minister Nitish Kumar, who installed Mr Manjhi as chief minister after the former resigned in May, is also upset with Mr Manjhi's statements.

But today in Bihar's Jehanabad district, both leaders shared the stage at Mr Kumar's Sampark Yatra, and there was not even a hint of tension in the air, or so it seemed. In his address to party workers, Mr Kumar said that Mr Manjhi was running the Bihar government well and with firmness.

Mr Manjhi returned the compliment by calling Mr Kumar 'Mukhyamantri ji' in his address, and said that his relationship with Mr Kumar was similar to the one between Lord Ram and his brother Lakshman.

This was the first time both leaders shared the stage during Mr Kumar's yatra. Mr Manjhi's constituency, Makhdumpur, falls in Jehanabad district.
