Jaipur:
One out of three samples of IV fluid whose application has killed 18 women at two government hospitals in Jodhpur, has been found to be contaminated by Kolkata's Central Drug Laboratory.
The test report from the Kolkata-based laboratory was received on Monday by the state government which says that one out of three samples of three batches of IV fluid --OD 0077---was found to be non-sterile and containing bacterial endotoxins.
The other two samples of the batches of ID 0002 and 0007 were declared as standard, an official of state medical and health department said on Monday night.
24-year-old Sagar Kanwar who was in the ICU for the past three weeks died on Monday, weeks after she had a C-section operation, taking the death toll to 18.
The government had sent three samples for testing to the laboratory.
The report has been forwarded to the state police and divisional commissioner Jodhpur for further inquiry. (With PTI Inputs)
