New Delhi:
India and the US discussed the relief efforts in quake-devastated Nepal during a call by US Secretary of State John Kerry to his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj.
Spokesman of External Affairs Ministry Vikas Swarup tweeted last night:
Both India and the US have been involved in the rescue and relief work in Nepal to rehabilitate millions of uprooted victims of the devastating temblor on April 25 that has killed at least 7,365 people,
Later this year, India and the US will be holding their strategic dialogue, jointly chaired by the External Affairs Minister and the Secretary of State.
The US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Wendy Sherman, was in New Delhi last week and held talks with Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar on Indo-US ties and implementation of decisions taken at the summit between US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January. They also reviewed the security scenario in the region.
