New Delhi: US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will hold a joint press conference a little after 1 o'clock in the afternoon today and what will be most keenly watched are the contents of the joint statement.
Sources have told NDTV that the joint statement will refer to lifting of dual use restrictions. Also expected is word on American support for India at Nuclear Suppliers Group.
The statement will reflect India's role in Afghanistan and forward looking language on this.
Sources also say a reference to the need for Pakistan to dismantle terror groups especially the Lashkar is likely.
Climate change is also likely to be addressed, however, the language on climate change is still being worked out.
President Obama has made it clear before embarking on his India trip that selling American goods is a priority. He is likely to push India to buy more US military hardware, the President is targeting to firm up arms sales worth $26 billion.
