Mumbai: Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone surviving Pakistani gunman of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, betrayed no emotions as the anti-terror court pronounced him guilty on Monday.
Clad in his usual white kurta-pyjama, Kasab stood with his head bowed as Judge M L Tahilyani declared him guilty of the murder of 166 persons during the brazen terror onslaught.
He stood up quietly as the court explained its verdict to him in Hindi and then sat down when directed by the judge.
"Tumhe Bharat ke khilaf jung chhedne aur terrorist act karne aur logon ka khoon karne ke liye doshi paaya gaya hai (You have been found guilty for waging war against India, committing terror acts and murder)," Judge Tahilyani told him.
"Tumhari saaza ki sunwayi kal hogi (Arguments on your quantum of sentence would take place tomorrow)," the judge said.
Soon after this, Kasab, sporting a stubble, was escorted back to his cell.
Meanwhile, the other two accused - Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed who were acquitted of all the charges - could not suppress their smiles as they heaved a sigh of relief.
Soon after the judgement, Faheem exchanged glances with his wife and brother present in the court and smiled broadly.
