New Delhi: The controversy around Kangana Ranaut's additional writing credits for Simran was reportedly resurrected by actress Vidya Balan in an Instagram post, in which she posed with a (fake) 'additional credit' card in her hand. Vidya's picture was captioned: "Who needs credit when your director gifts you this card?!! (sic)" and it was assumed to be an indirect comment about Kangana's Simran controversy. But apparently, Kangana Ranaut doesn't care. She told : "Ha Ha, I read about that. Vidya is a dear friend and honestly, I am not a thin-skinned person when it comes to people taking digs or jibes at me." We believe you, Kangana. After all, the 30-year-old actress doesn't mince her words when her colleagues give unwanted statements about her - remember Kangana and Hrithik Roshan's public feud over their alleged affair or her war of words with Karan Johar over her 'playing the victim card' remarks.
Last week, Vidya Balan, said that her Tumhari Sulu director Suresh Triveni 'gifted' her 'additional credit' card.
A Recap Of The Simran Credit Row
Writer Apurva Asrani was upset about Kangana Ranaut's name (credited for 'additional dialogues, screenplay and story') appearing before his own on the first poster of Simran. Later, in a lengthy Facebook post, Apurva wrote that he felt "shocked and betrayed" after director Hansal Mehta included Kangana's name in the credit list before him. He also narrated the entire sequence of events in this post.
Apurva Asrani has earlier worked with Hansal Mehta in films like Shahid, Citylights and Aligarh. Apurva also reportedly parted ways with Mr Mehta after the entire episode.
