Here are 5 points on the teacher:
Karan Sangwan was taking an online class when he made the remarks. The small clip that has gone viral on social media shows he made the remarks towards the end of the lecture before he was sacked.
He also talked about the current situation in the country while urging students to vote for educated politicians. Other clips gaining traction claim to show he responded strongly to the sacking, but NDTV cannot confirm the authenticity of the videos.
After Unacademy sacked him, Mr Sangwan started his own YouTube channel and announced that he will post details around the controversy on August 19.
The educator also talks about the "consequences" he faced and the impact his students is facing because of the viral videos.
Meanwhile, Unacademy has justified the decision to sack Mr Sangwan saying he violated the code of conduct the company has put in place for its teachers.
