Bangalore:
About 50 Congress MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah, senior leaders D K Shivakumar and R V Deshpande are on a dharna outside the residence of Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa.
They are protesting against 'poaching of MLAs by BJP', the most recent being Jagalur MLA Ramachandra.
Some of Congress MLAs have been arrested.
PTI adds:
Siddaramaiah has warned the ruling BJP that Congress would launch 'jail baro' programme across the state if the government did not give up its "horse trading".
"The BJP government is in totters. They have been trying lure our MLAs. They are offering money to the tune of Rs 25 to 50 crore for defecting MLAs" Siddaramaih said while talking to reporters.
Siddaramaiah, also cautioned BJP that his partymen would resort to statewide protests if the saffron party continued its "horse trading".
Unfazed by the Congress stir, BJP spokesman C T Ravi said, "We will also stage protests against Congress if that party did not call off the agitation".
