Bangalore: The friction between Karnataka's Governor HR Bharadwaj and the BJP state government has surfaced once again with two letters written to the Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa by the Governor - asking for details on the land scam allegations - and the business dealing of the controversial Reddy brothers.
This follows a representation from the Congress to the Governor alleging favouritism, nepotism and misuse of office by the Chief Minister - and media reports on the land scam allegations.
But the BJP in Karnataka has not taken kindly to Governor HR Bharadwaj writing to the Chief Minister asking for a factual report on the recent land scams allegedly involving BJP leaders in the state.
"Unfortunately, Mr Hansraj Bharadwaj, from the day one, he is politicising every issue and this is one more in that list," said Prakash, the state BJP media in charge.
However, the state Congress defends the Governor's act.
"Whenever there is such incidence that goes against the constitutional implementation he would find out by inquiring with the administrative head, which is the Chief Minister and the government. So naturally he would have written a letter," said G Parameshwara, Karnataka Congress President.
In the letters, the Governor also mentions that he has not received any information specifically on the issue and also questions the propriety of their continuing in the cabinet while facing serious allegations.
But the question is, will land scam and Reddys interest Yeddyurappa for any kind of correspondence?
