Thiruvananthapuram: Former defence minister AK Antony today said that Kashmir was "like a volcano, about to erupt", adding that Pakistan was "hell-bent" on creating trouble in the Valley.
"The only solution for India is to win people's confidence, said Mr Antony, asking the government to send an all-party delegation to find a political solution to the violence in the valley.
"The Pakistan army is doing its best to create situations in Kashmir. What needs to be done is to win the confidence of the people of Kashmir, said the Congress leader. "They should feel the people in Delhi are theirs too, but somehow that's not happening and it has to change immediately".
Mr Antony said that If a political solution was not found immediately, the country may regret it later.
"The only way out is to have a political dialogue. It's not good to speak on the lines that the Kashmir youth have a terrorist mindset; instead, they should be cajoled and talked to with a lot of patience," Mr Antony said, adding that police and army cannot win people's confidence and a political solution was a must.
Kashmir has been under curfew and a separatist-imposed lockdown since the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen's Burhan Wani
