New Delhi:
A day after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attacked the Centre, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju today hit back saying the AAP leader only wants "drama" while the NDA government believes in governance.
Mr Kejriwal had yesterday accused the Centre of attempting to run Delhi through "backdoor" after the Home Ministry issued a notification giving absolute powers to the Lt Governor in appointment of bureaucrats and clarifying that he need not "consult" the chief minister on subjects like police and public order.
"It's not worth responding to Kejriwal who just wants drama. We don't believe in drama but in governance," Mr Rijiju, who is Minister of State for Home, told reporters on the sidelines of an event in New Delhi.
Mr Kejriwal has been involved in a bitter fight with LG Najeeb Jung over transfer and postings of bureaucrats in the Delhi government.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley too had attacked the AAP government, saying the people's experiment has turned out to be "very costly because governance is not their political agenda".
"Whatever is happening in Delhi in last few months, it seems coming days may be painful. The AAP government came following a huge mandate. They should understand their responsibilities. People want governance and not controversy. So they should understand their responsibilities and fulfill people's expectations," he had said.
