Kochi:
Kerala Food & Civil Supplies Minister TM Jacob died of a heart attack late Sunday night.
Jacob, 61, died at a private hospital in Kochi where he was admitted since the last few days.
Jacob, a four-time minister, was the lone representative of the regional party Kerala Congress in the ruling Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) alliance.
With Jacob's death, the UDF's slender majority in the 140-member Assembly has come down to 71 from 72.
The minister's funeral will be held in Kottayam district on Tuesday.
