New Delhi:
Yet another controversy has emerged between the members of Anna Hazare-led India Against Corruption (IAC) movement, which has been spearheading the campaign against corruption in government departments.
According to a report in a leading daily, IAC member Kiran Bedi wrote a letter to Anna Hazare slamming Arvind Kejriwal's NGO, Public Cause Research Foundation (PCRF), over alleged mismanagement of funds. Ms Bedi has, however, denied writing any such letter saying she has never doubted Arvind Kejriwal's integrity. "PCRF is a closely monitored body, that you can't do any fraud," she said.
Mr Kejriwal too has denied the report adding that all allegations against Team Anna should be probed. "If the allegations are true, we should be charged with the twice the amount of punishment," he said. And he once again threatened to launch an agitation "if this probe is not conducted within two months".
Interestingly, a letter reprimanding Mr Kejriwal and bearing signature similar to Anna's, is also doing the rounds amongst the IAC members. While quoting the letter, the newspaper report said, "I have received an e-mail from Kiran Bediji. She has written that it is necessary that a budget of the PCRF be prepared. The budget should have details about how much we are going to spend on different things. The money being spent on the PCRF staff is a lot. The money has been donated by public, and we must spend it carefully."
Anna, however, said that he had not shot off any such letter to Mr Kejriwal.
