Kishenji's offer to the Centre

Kishenji's offer to the Centre
New Delhi: After weeks of violence, the Naxals have offered a 72-day ceasefire to the government. Following is the offer by Naxal leader Kishenji to the Centre:

Our revolutionary violence will stay on hold for as long as state terror is put on hold.

If the state and Centre put violence on hold, not for 72 hours but for 72 days, then we will immediately stop our revolutionary violence, this is the proposal of the CPI-Maoist party.

For the people, for the people's development, for the terrorised villagers of Jangalmahala, we propose a halt to state violence and revolutionary violence from Feb 25 to May 7.

Let the liberal intellectuals and human rights groups mediate.

Today the President, at Parliament, called the Maoists cowards. But in West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Andhra and Bihar and Jharkhand, central forces and paramilitary forces have terrorised the people...many killed, 50 women raped and one lakh villagers have had to leave their homes. Is this the work of brave people?

People want this "brave" government's terrible acts should stop.
