In a massive victory for the Trinamool Congress, the party has won 134 of the 144 seats in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections that were being counted today under heavy security. The voting took place on Sunday.
The BJP has won three seats and the CPI and CPIM are leading in one seat each. The Congress has won from two wards.
Congratulating her party candidates, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted: "Remember to serve people with utmost diligence and gratitude!"
