Kolkata: For some 2009 batch of engineering graduates their IT career has just gone bust. Five months into their training 228 of them recruited with Assurgent Technology Solutions Limited, have discovered their stipend of Rs 2000 a year to be an empty agreement.
And now they want the company to return their security deposit of Rs one lakh when they were appointed.
But the management is absconding.
"There is a bond where it has been written that after completing we will get stipend as Rs 2000. But they have violated this bond paper. Our company is not good so we want our security money back," says one of them.
A NASSCOM certified company with its registered office in Hyderabad the company has close to 1800 recruits and employees.
It has amassed crores of rupees As security deposit from its three branches.
Says Sujit Pal, Chief Financial Officer of Ingogen Global: "The total amount which I have got is around 18 crore and fifty lakhs which has been taken in the form of security deposit. It is from West Bengal Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad."
Some 700 recruits of the 2008 batch have not received their monthly probationary salary of Rupees 13,000 month since January.
"We have serviced for the past four months till May 2009. But we have not received any salary. Just we have received one or two PDC cheques and that also bounced. A police case has been filed and the West Bengal IT Minister informed about the incident but patience is running out," says one employer.
"Seriously if nothing will happen we will go to Mamatadi because she is the only politician who will solve the matter," he adds.
Hopefully the IT Minister is listening.
