Bangalore:
A day after the Reddy brothers claimed to be as pure as gold, Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy attacked the duo claiming he has evidence against them.
Kumaraswamy said, ""In Delhi, Karnataka Chief Minister expressed his views that there is no prima facie evidence against his ministers. Today, in that context, I produced one document about illegal mining activities of Janardhan Reddy in the company which he owned, Anantapura Mining Corporation. From that company in Karnataka he has illegally transported more than 3 lakh tonnes iron ore during the year 2005-06."
With this, Kumaraswamy has added his voice to the political storm that has taken over Karnataka Politics.
"What he expressed that he is pure gold. Then how involving in illegal activities, how that pure gold is working out in Karnataka. That document I released," added Kumaraswamy.
The Reddy brothers and their alleged involvement in illegal mining has been the prime cause of concern for the state BJP ever since it came to power.
In Karnataka, the opposition MLAs had staged a 'sleep-in' protest inside the assembly premises, demanding a CBI probe into the mining issue.
Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who was in Delhi last week, had said that in the absence of any evidence he was unable to take action against Reddys.
This new jibe from the former Chief minister of state could throw up more hidden angles in the illegal mining story.
