A ceremonial welcome was accorded to Kyrgyzstan President Almazbek Atambayev on Tuesday as he was received by President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Vikas Swarup, tweeted, "Our final State guest for 2016, President Almazbek Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan begins engagements with a ceremonial welcome at @RashtrapatiBhvn"
The Kyrgyz President, who is on his first visit to India, is leading a high-level delegation of ministers and corporates. He is also expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the day.
Mr Atambayev's visit comes nearly a year-and-a-half after PM Modi visited Kyrgyzstan in July, 2015.
