Labourers from north India working for MNS

Ratnagiri, Maharashtra: As the war of words between Rahul Gandhi and the Shiv Sena peaked one man who's been largely silent is Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray.

His party often turns the heat on North Indian migrants claiming they are taking away jobs from the Marathi manoos.

But now the same Raj Thackeray's party is hiring labourers from Uttar Pradesh to make hoardings inviting pilgrims to a religious festival in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.

The labourers claim they have been working for the MNS for the past three years, since Raj broke away from the Shiv Sena and began his own political party.

"Since the party has been formed, we are the people who do the work for the Navnirman Sena. We are from UP and Bihar. The party protests against us but still we do their work to make our daily living by putting up their banners," says one of the labourers.
